Early Riser's (Women’s) Breakfast
The Early Risers (Women’s) Breakfast group generally meets at 8:30am on the last Sunday of each month except June, July, August and December. This is a casual group that invites women to “drop in” for conversation and friendship. Occasionally there is a speaker. Women who wish to participate become part of a team that takes turns setting up and preparing the breakfast. Men's Breakfast Group
The Men's Breakfast Group meets at 8:00am on the third Sunday of each month, except June, July, August and September. Breakfast is followed by a short time of fellowship and a speaker. All men are welcome to join this group. Inclusive Choir
Inclusive choir,made up of people from the abled and differently abled community who enjoy music, whether Disney, folk favourites or seasonal tunes. The Inclusion Choir usually meets at Grace on Sundays at 2pm, breaking for the summers. For further information contact Jackie at jackie@theclubinclusion.com. The choir is ably led by Adam Johnson. There is no fee for this activity.
Choir
Music is a very important part of our life at Grace. Much of the music at worship is provided by the Grace Choir, occasionally joined by guest musicians. Choir members as soloist, duets or as part of a group also provide music. When allowed, available choir members providing music at our worship services at Oakwood Terrace and Parkland at the Lakes. The Choir meets weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00pm for practice. Wednesday evening practice does not occur in the summer. If you are interested in joining, please contact our organist and choir director, Joel Tranquilla.
Truth and Reconciliation Group
This is an informal group that meets at the home of group member generally on the third Monday of the month at 7pm. See This Month’s Activities for information on time and place. This group seeks to educate themselves on topics that touch on being in right relationships with the indigenous peoples of Canada. This year they are undertaking the Souper Sunday project - on the third Sunday of the month, they provide soup after church in exchange for a freewill offering. Money raised goes to the Mi’kmawey Debert Cultural Centre.
Walk with Grace
We have a “drop-in” on Sundays, weather permitting. Walks take place around Lake Banook meeting at the lock by the Nowlan St. parking area. In the summer the walk starts at 7pm and a stop for a treat is made at the Kiwanis ice cream stand at Graham’s Grove when it is opened. During the Fall to Spring we walk at 1:30pm.
Bowling
Grace Women's Bowling League meets on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. at the Woodside Bowlarama. Several teams form the league. The bowling season is September to just before Christmas and January to April. Social opportunities take place during the games and at the closing banquet. If interested, please give our office a call.
Scouting & Guiding
Grace is pleased to host groups from both the Scouting and the Guiding movements. The value of guiding and scouting programs is well known and Grace is pleased to be able to support such worthwhile programs, ones that promote youth development and citizenship, while being fun at the same time.
2nd Dartmouth Guides and Pathfinders/Rangers meet at Grace. Monday nights are 2nd Dartmouth Guides (usually 6:30pm-8:00pm) and Tuesday nights are 2nd Dartmouth Pathfinders/Rangers (usually 7:00-8:30 pm) in the Lower Hall. In the past, 5th Dartmouth Cubs usually met 6:30pm-8:00 pm on Tuesdays in the Upper Hall. Beavers usually met 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesdays in the Lower Hall. Please check with the organization for further information.
